Wall-‐Mounted Bicycle Rack
This is an indoor wall-‐mounted bicycle rack that I dare say is one-‐of-‐a-‐kind in
today’s market. I came up with this design aCer analyzing exisFng products,
experimenFng my design ideas with model-‐making and trying to meet most
of the specificaFons that I have set. These specificaFons may include hanging
the bicycle at a distance from the wall so that it won’t scratch the wall,
having enough storage space for bicycle-‐related or ordinary objects and
making sure it takes liKle effort to put the bicycle onto the rack.
This bicycle rack is made almost enFrely out of birch-‐faced plywood with the
excepFon of the use of clear acrylic piece and aluminium handle bar for the
drawer. This gives it a very organic look – perfect for indoor environment.
Vacuum bag press has played a big part in my manufacturing because a lot of
the wooden parts had to be bent into shape.
Throughout this project, not only have I learnt to master some new-‐found
skills, I have also learnt an important life lesson that you must plan ahead
and if you are given a task, you must commit yourself to it to aim for the
highest standard possible so that you leave no regret behind.
