Apple laptop stand
For my AS level I designed a product to hold an Apple MacBook Pro
13” and 15” laptop at an angle off the desk. I chose this product to
solve the problem of my laptop overheaHng and my design allows air
to flow under the laptop, cooling it, and therefore saving its baLery
life because it doesn’t need to acHvate its fans. I also designed my
product to interlock into each other to save space when being
carried. I used a variety of CAD and CAM methods as well as manual
skills in making my product, such as the CNC router and the lave.
I chose to make my product for Apple so I design it as simply as
possible with curved corners and aluminium strips to blend in with
the laptop. I also chose to colour my foam white to look like white
acrylic, used in many Apple products and aLached a black Apple to
look like the glass logo used on Apple iMacs and MacBooks.
