| At the beginning of the summer, 61 pupils and 7 staff embarked on an eight day music tour to the Netherlands. The Chapel Choir, Big Band, and String Ensemble delivered 10 contrasting performances throughout the week. |

| The tour opened in Wijk bij Duurstede with a Big Band concert in the Market Square, followed by a sacred concert at the Grotekerk featuring Fauré’s Requiem. In Delft, the Big Band entertained market crowds before the group explored Amsterdam, visited Anne Frank’s House, and attended Evensong at St Nicholas Basilica. |

| In Haarlem, pupils toured a working windmill, prior to a two hour Big Band jazz concert and a choir performance at the iconic Bavokerk, accompanied by Mr Morrin on the historic organ. |

| A rest day at the Efteling theme park preceded a group dinner and final performances in Utrecht. Highlights included a concert at the Domkerk - featuring a spellbinding performance of Bach’s Chaconne in D Minor by Ryan, a canal cruise, and an energetic Big Band theatre show. The tour concluded in Leiden with a final performance of Fauré’s Requiem at the Hartbrugkerk. |

| Abingdon’s rowers put on a spectacular display at Dorney Lake over a scorching, record-breaking May weekend. Fielding 98 rowers across 11 events, Abingdon achieved its best collective set of results in nearly a decade, culminating in seven crews ranking in the nation's top six . Highlights included a brilliant, podium-equalling Bronze medal for the J15 A crew, dominant finals wins for all three J14 octos, and both J16 crews making the A final. The weekend concluded with a masterfully executed, tactical victory for the Championship Eight, who flew from 14th in the time trials to secure 9th place nationally. A massive well done to our rowers and huge thanks to parents and coaches for their support. |

From inviting Tom Digby (OA 2016), Olympic and World Champion rower, to speak to our Upper Sixth leavers, organising the receptions held in Shanghai and Hong Kong, arranging the Gerald Smithson Memorial Cricket match, to writing an article on an OA award-winning wildlife director and cinematographer based in Botswana’s Okavango Delta – no two days are the same. | Louis Davis (1860 – 1941), educated at Abingdon in the 1870s, was a distinguished stained-glass artist of the Arts and Crafts movement whose masterpiece, the six Choir windows in |

| Dunblane Cathedral, was commissioned by the Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer. After his death, Davis’s widow donated an exhibition panel from one of these windows to the School. It is currently in the Staff Common Room. The Choir windows illustrate the Benedicite Opera Omnia, the Song of Creation, and the Abingdon panel represents the north wind from the Allegory window. In addition to the panel, the School archives hold a number of Davis’s sketchbooks and drawings. |

| Also in the common room are four panels of glass that began life in the old schoolroom, now the Roysse Room part of the Abingdon Guildhall buildings. The work of the firm of C E Kempe and Co, the panels list the names of the headmasters who occupied the schoolroom between 1563 and 1870, some of the prominent men educated in that schoolroom and the names of their contemporaries who became heads of Oxford colleges. The panels were installed and the room refurbished in 1911 at the cost of two OAs keen to mark the fact that the room had been Abingdon’s schoolroom for 307 years. |
