Health
The Health Centre State Registered Nurse, is on duty during the school
week. The School Medical Officer or a partner in his GP practice is
always available, in addition to his regular surgery visits. Full boarding
pupils needing medical treatment at school are cared for in the Health
Centre. We expect weekly boarding and day boys, who fall ill, to go
home.
When a boarder requires special medical treatment, the School will make
every effort to obtain the prior consent of a parent or guardian, or of the
pupil himself, if he is over sixteen. Should this be impossible, the Head
or housemaster, acting in loco parentis, is authorised to consent to
whatever treatment (including anaesthetic or operation) a doctor or
consultant recommends.

Abingdon School Parents’ Association
The Abingdon School Parents’ Association (ASPA) is an association to
which all parents automatically belong. Through ASPA, parents help the
School in various ways: members run the second-hand clothing scheme
and organise a variety of social events.
The Old Abingdonian Club
The OA Club is the School’s alumni association and helps to keep Old
Abingdonians in touch with each other and the School through a range of
events, publications, social media and its website:
With over 6,000 members, the Club aims to facilitate social and professional
networking among OAs, to help current pupils evaluate, choose and pursue
their educational and career interests and to support Abingdon’s strategic
development plan.
