Rugby
The 1st XV played some
tough matches last term,
none more so than against
Grey High School one of
the top three rugby-playing
schools in South Africa
who were on a UK tour.
Although the scoreline
indicated the power of the
South African side, the 1st
XV played with their usual
grit and determination and
enjoyed the experience of
being part of such top-level
schoolboy rugby.
Theo Brophy-Clews played
for the England U18 squad
that beat the Australian U18s
23-3 in their match at Harrow
School on 4 December.
Theo, who is a member of
London Irish, is one of several
Abingdon boys associated
with premiership academies:
Jamie Pearson – Wasps &
Welsh Exiles U18, Michael
Dewar – Wasps and Scottish
Exiles U18, Kieran Routledge –
Gloucester U18,
Sam Telling – London Irish U16,
Jamie Cox – Wasps U16,
Jack Holford – Wasps U16.
