Representing GB
Abingdon rowers have been representing GB at a number of international events over the
summer. There were four Abingdonians in GB crews at the Munich International Junior
Regatta where Jamie Copus and Felix Newman achieved a magnificent second place in
their pairs event, as did the GB VIII with two Abingdonians in the crew – Will Davey and
Vassilis Ragoussis. Abingdon’s J16A coxed IV, rowing for GB, achieved a clear win over
the French crew at the annual GB v France match. At the Coup de la Jeunesse in July,
Will Davey rowed in the coxless IV, winning silver on the Saturday and gold on the Sunday,
and Neil McKenzie coxed both the coxed IV and the VIII, winning silver and bronze on the
Saturday and gold and gold on the Sunday.
