The build up to the event received great support from the OA community, and a keen seven-a- side match took place featuring OAs from the last decade of leavers, as well as current staff donning shirts. For many of our OAs it was their first time using the Tilsley Park facilities and following the game, a buffet lunch and well-earned catch up was enjoyed by all in the hospitality area. We hope to welcome everyone, and more, back next year to build on the success of this inaugural fixture. Three OAs in Oxford Boat World championship rowing gold medallist and OA 2008, Ollie Cook, joined his brother Jamie (OA 2010) and Vassilis Ragoussis (OA 2011) in the victorious Oxford crew for the 2017 Boat Race. The three oarsmen returned to Abingdon School for the 26th Annual Boat Club Dinner at the end of March. Ollie, who was the guest speaker, was joined by fellow members of his 2008 1st VIII crew Max Gander, Simon Jeffreys, Michael Nagi, Fearghus Raftery and Matt Rossiter.
