Paul Gooding, Katy Lee and Carrie Berry, have qualified as Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructors with Mental Health First Aid England. They are training up both Abingdon staff and partnership school staff in this vital area. In the year 2018-2019 they have trained 43 staff from the Abingdon Foundation as well as 29 from partnership and other schools. The course is part of the government's wider desire to see front line staff equipped to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. It also equips staff to spot early signs and symptoms of poor mental health in order to signpost to the appropriate professional help. We are pleased to say that the training will be rolled out to more staff over the coming years.
