The varied concert programme was based around music from stage and screen, and featured singing performances from each year group, our Junior and Senior Choirs, and some of our instrumental groups. The children all sang with gusto and commitment to bring the songs alive, often accompanied by actions, as in Year 3 and 4’s Accentuate the Positive. The Summer Concert is also the time when we showcase our young musicians who are moving on from APS, stepping into the limelight for a solo spot. Piano, violin, flute, cello and some Metallica on the electric guitar featured in some superb individual performances, dazzling all with their skill and musicality. The evening closed with a whole-school performance of Refuge by Howard Goodall. A huge thank you goes all the staff who helped to make the concert such a success, especially Lenka and our VMTs, including Ilya who stood in as accompanist at short notice. SUMMER CONCERT AT THE AMEY THEATRE PRE-PREP INTERNATIONAL DAY Pre-Prep launched into an exploration of rainforests and jungles in our world which culminated in an international celebration. The children travelled from Brazil to Peru and across the oceans to South Africa, trying foods, exploring the crafts, listening to the music and dancing to the beats.
