We are very grateful to all the parents who gave up their time on a rather warm and sultry afternoon to talk about their careers to the pupils. Each introduced themselves, their job and their own career paths in short presentations followed by small group discussions where the pupils asked questions and explored further. James Carter visited Abingdon Prep to do poetry workshops with Years 1–4. Reading from his many books, including ‘Zim, Zam, Zoom’ and ‘Weird, Wild and Wonderful’, each class wrote their own poems which were then shared at the end of the day.
