John Cook (1961) retired in 2009 after a varied working life in the Army, local government, security companies and a construction/ services company. He has taken up golf, lives near Wantage and with his wife, Rosemary, is in demand as a baby-sitter for his granddaughters and great grandson. Ross Coomber (1966) finished the Oregon Marathon on 1 June 2013 to complete his sweep of 50 marathons, one in each of the US States. In addition to his wife Kathy, son Martin and daughter Susan, this event was witnessed by OA friends of Ross who flew out to the Pacific coast for a long weekend to celebrate his achievement at Newport and then onto Portland for some well earned micro brews! Despite advice not to take on anything within a year of retiring, he ignored that, entering local politics as a district councillor for the Cotswolds, where he is now a cabinet member. He lives in Tetbury with his wife, Christine. Kick-started by his years in the Boat Club at Abingdon, Barry maintained his interest in rowing, finally retiring from competitive rowing at the age of 60, when he became chairman of Henley Masters Regatta. He is a member of Leander Club in Henley. Richard Harvey (1960) won the over 70s 400m, 800m, 1500m and 5000m in the North-Eastern Veterans Athletics Championships in the summer. The previous year he won the British over 70s 800m. He would like to hear from any of his athletics contemporaries. richardharvey2011@ gmail.com Peter Healy (1967) became an estate agent for seven years before joining British Gas’ marketing dept in which he worked until 1995. Peter then took voluntary redundancy and ran his own marketing & PR company, specialising in fires and fireplaces until he retired in 2012. He is in touch with Nick Wood (1968) and was a close friend of the late Iain Herbertson (1967). Peter is married with two children and is the son of H B Healy (1931) and nephew of D E Healy (1931). James (Jim) Milne (1960) joined the Fleet Air Arm in 1960 as an Observer (Navigator). He retired from active service in 1992 as a Lieutenant Commander to join the Ministry of Defence as the Naval Resettlement Officer for Scotland. He retired a second time in 2011 after 51 years continuous service to the Royal Navy.
