4 OA Club Online / Careers Programme The OA Club’s online community is growing all the time. E-mail and eNewsletters Over 3500 OAs are now keeping in touch with the OA Club by e-mail. E-mail subscribers receive termly updates via electronic newsletters with individual bulletins about specific events or news items. Events can be booked online. OA Directory – www.oaclub.org.uk/members Over 2000 OAs are now registered for access to the OA Directory in the online members’ area. Registered OAs can update their own details in the OA Club’s database, search for contact information of other OAs and choose how much of their own information they wish to make visible to other registered members. The OA Directory is also an ever-expanding resource for careers contacts and can be searched by job sector and geographical location. Social Networking – Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn The OA Club also makes use of a number of social networking resources to publish news and information on events. THE OA C LUB ONL I NE The John Roysse Lodge (no. 7957) is a freemasons lodge consecrated in 1964 for Old Abingdonians by the late Sir James Cobban, Headmaster of Abingdon School (1947-1970). Sir James was also the Lodge’s first Worshipful Master. Today the Lodge affords, OAs and members past and present of the Common Room, the opportunity to enjoy freemasonry while retaining strong, philanthropic ties to Abingdon School.
