He has been appointed as an adviser to the Chinese government for publishing on the China Books International Committee of the State Council for Information. His wife, Fang Yan, has recently qualified as a hypnotherapist. Nik Hazledine (1977) is a serving member of the Canadian Forces (medical services) and has just returned from a second deployment to Afghanistan. He is married to Pascale- Marie and has four boys, two of whom are also in the Canadian Forces. Bill Homewood (1976) and his wife Kim and family continue to run and develop Peach Croft Farm at Radley. They are growers and producers of arable crops and soft fruit as well as being well known for Christmas turkeys and geese. Their customers include Harrods and Fortnum & Mason in London as well as many local customers. They have three daughters; the youngest Katy is at school locally, the eldest Hannah recently married and Nancy is a vet at Hook Norton. David Howat (1971) was recently elected as Vice President of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. He is about to retire from the Forestry Commission where he is currently Deputy Director, Scotland, after 33 years of service. Charles Pfeil (1971) has relocated to Scotland after 26 years living in Chipping Sodbury. He remains busy with hobbies and as a committee member of several clubs and societies. Julian Spooner (1973) , after a career in marketing and general management, latterly with Diageo, led a MBO of a media consultancy, then became Global COO of Accenture Marketing Sciences. He now invests in, and chairs, private equity-backed businesses and is an Operating Partner at ISIS EP LLP. As an ex-member, he’s delighted to see the Boat Club doing brilliantly - so much so that a few years ago it inspired him to get back in a boat after 39 years and compete again for Kingston Rowing Club! He’s recently moved to Windsor, is married to Lynn and has three sons aged 30, 26 and 19. John Aguilar (1980) is now Principal of Padworth College, Reading. Mark Boobbyer (1985) , having worked for 18 years at Wellington College, is now Director of Tiger Kloof Educational Institution in South Africa. Paul Bowker (1980) undertook the Marathon des Sables, a self-sufficient, 250 km, six-day ultra-marathon in the Moroccan Sahara desert – the equivalent of six marathons in six days in temperatures reaching in excess of 50º C. Paul raised money for two charities – BackUp Trust and Pancreatic Cancer Action. Ian Flitcroft’s (1982) first novel, The Reluctant Cannibals , has been published. www.reluctantcannibals.com Jason Haynes (1986) set up Flint Wines in 2006 and supplies restaurants, independent shops and collectors across the country. This year his company was awarded the coveted IWC Burgundy Specialist of the Year Award recognising the work done with over 50 domaines in that region. Living in Sussex, but based in London and spending much of his time in France, Jason is no longer sure where he feels most at home but is happy so long as he has a glass of Pinot Noir in front of him! Miles Kendall (1989) cycled 1000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in August 2013 in aid of the Anaphylaxis Campaign - the charity that supports people (like his son, Sam) with severe allergies. Magnus Macintyre (1989) spent many years as a serial entrepreneur (in media and energy) before turning to novel writing.
