Joint Bus Service sign-up for September now open

On behalf of the JBS service, please accept the School's apologies for the unforeseen delays that have been encountered in the sign-up sheets for the Joint Bus Service which had been due to go live at the end of last month.  The good news is that the sign-up forms are now available on the JBS website.  Please see below for further information from the JBS team:

Firstly,  please accept our apologies for the delays that have prevented the launch of the new JBS booking portal whilst development work took place.  Unfortunately the work was more complicated and technical than first anticipated and as a result has taken some time to resolve and correct.  The website is now live and places can now be booked for travel from September.

If you have previously placed a booking in the old system then these bookings have been transferred over to the new system,  but to ensure completeness please log into your account and check the details and accuracy.  If you have emailed the JBS staff directly,  then these bookings are also in place and you should again login and check.  If you have any queries or concerns please email Tom Peeke at [email protected]

Calendar change – half-term Michaelmas term 2019

Our term dates for 2019–20 were published on the website earlier than usual, in order to aid families in their planning. However, it has now come to our attention that the University Pre-Interview Assessment Day has been scheduled to be on Wednesday 30 October 2019. (In 2020 these assessments will fall later.) Given how many Abingdon School students are now involved in these tests, we hope you will understand that we need to modify the dates for the half-term due in 18 months’ time. We are making this change in conjunction with both St Helen and St Katharine’s, Abingdon Preparatory School and The Manor.

The start date of the Michaelmas half-term break will now be Friday 11 October 2019, not Friday 18 October 2019. The finish date will be Sunday 27 October, not Sunday 3 November. Please visit the Term and Key Dates page on the school website for a full list of term dates 2018–20; a revised term date schedule for academic year 2019-20 is also attached – all previous copies should be destroyed.  Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
