School website – update and maintenance this weekend 6/7 June 2015
This weekend the school website will be undergoing some maintenance and updating and will be unavailable for a time. This is most likely to be on Sunday. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Music Events in the Second half of term
Lower School Gala Concert – Wednesday 24 June at 6pm – It is intended that all boys in Lower School will be participating in this special Gala Concert to celebrate the talents of boys in the first and second years. All these boys will be participating in our Lower School Choir, and other instrumental ensembles include Junior Strings, Lower School Band and Junior Blues Society. We hope that the concert, involving some 120 boys, will be well attended by parents. Admission is free, but we will have a charitable dimension to this concert, by way of a retiring collection.
Summer Concert – Friday 26 June at 7pm – Please come and help us celebrate the arrival of summer and the end of term with a final concert featuring our senior bands and orchestras. The ensembles include all three senior bands and orchestras (First Second and Chamber). Pupil, Mitch Keely will be conducting his Fantasia in its premiere, Alex Foster will play Gliere's horn concerto and even James Bond will have his 007 moment! Boys in our ensembles will rehearse that morning from 9.00am and the Sports Day will keep everyone occupied in the afternoon at Tilsley Park. This will be our chance to farewell our musical leavers – I do hope you will join us. Please apply for tickets in good time to save queuing at the door.
