Lower Sixth November Tests

These were sat in the third week after half term and the results will be sent out to parents on Friday via email in advance of the parents' evening on Tuesday.  Some boys will be expected to return a day early in the Lent Term to resit papers in some subjects – this will be made clear to the boys by teachers and parents will receive confirmation of arrangements at the beginning of the Christmas break.
It is particularly important now we have moved to a linear system that boys keep themselves on track academically and maintain a good pace of progress over the two years up to the A Level exams in the Upper Sixth.  These November Test results are not judged at an A Level standard but more by an awareness of what level a boy might be expected to be at having had nearly a term of A Level teaching. Thus, they are far from being predictions at this stage but they should give a strong indication of how things are going right now.  In particular, poor results in these tests should provoke conversations and may even result in a consideration of whether a boy has chosen the right A Level courses.  Senior staff will be interviewing a number of boys before the end of term and parents, tutors and housemasters are encouraged to be part of the discussion.
