abingdon.org.uk/prep 11 Abingdon Prep Pre-Prep Reception celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. Rupal came to share the highlights of Diwali in her household. Everyone helped to wrap a sari round and round Elaine. Then we tried some Indian food and listened to traditional music. Pattan’s Pumpkin October November Smile Please! Rupal also visited to tell Reception all about her job as a dentist and how she can help us to look after our teeth. Forest School Diwali Year 1 enacted the story of Pattan’s Pumpkin from the book by Chitra Soundar. It tells the story of how Pattan’s pumpkin grows so big, it saves all his family and the animals when the floods come.
