On Saturday we played Cheltenham College for the first time. Felix Loeffen, our first year star, played again at 5th string, and once again played a marathon 5 setter. He ultimately had to retire with exhaustion, but it was an outstanding performance against a sixth form opponent. James Munday then made his debut in the team at 4th string, and played some impressive squash before eventually losing out. Will Pearson then played a strong opponent at 2nd string; he dropped one game, and then reasserted himself to dominate the match and took it 3-1 for his third win in a row. Will Taylor played at 3rd string again, and played outstanding squash to achieve his third successive 3-0 victory. I keep having to remind myself that he is still in the 4th year. The same goes for Nikhil Vyas, our number 1 player. Still in the fifth year, Nikhil again outplayed his opponent to win his third successive match 3-0. Abingdon has a tremendously strong team now, and with such youth the future is very bright.
