On the first Saturday of the Lent term the Senior team travelled to Sevenoaks to compete in the 45th Knole Run.

Always a highlight of the season as the race attracts a large field with schools attending from across the country.

The conditions were the driest they've been for a number of years, making the challenging hilly course firm under foot and slightly more bearable. Abingdon started well with Henry Barlow placed in 8th overall before unfortunately succumbing to injury on the second lap of the 9.4km course.

Alexander Pennington ran a well paced race to finish the highest placed Abingdonian in 40th place.

Special mention must go to 4th year Rowan Miell-Ingram who finished in 65th position out of 240 runners, showing plenty of scope to climb the rankings as he moves up the age groups. Overall the team placed 12th out of 28 schools.

Individual results

40th – Alexander Pennington
61st – Matthew Kunov
65th – Rowan Miell-Ingram
90th – Oliver Elly
115th – Tom Batchelor
144th – James Coode
148th – James Ashby

Well done to all involved.
