On Saturday 15 June 2019, Year Group Reunions for 1949, 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999, 2009 and 2017 leavers were held at Abingdon School.

The evening began with Steve Miller (1979) ringing the School bell 63 times to beckon guests to a Chapel Service led by The Rev'd Paul Gooding. Simon Farrant (1979)  gave the reading of Psalm 121 during the service and OAs were able to enjoy a few of Abingdon School boys' favourite hymns played enthusiastically by organist and OA Stephen Clarke (1982).

Despite the threat of rain throughout the day, the sun came out in time for us to enjoy a glorious drinks reception in the Jekyll Garden and Amey Theatre Foyer. The Headmaster, Michael Windsor, took this opportunity to outline recent and forthcoming developments of the School site while OA John Walker relayed highlights of the OA Club calendar to give us a taste of the events that the OA Club regularly organises.

Tours of the School were much enjoyed by the guests. Each year group recalled various stages of the School's history and were interested to see the buildings that had been developed since their last visit.

A very pleasant evening culminated in a delicious buffet in the School dining hall. We look forward to welcoming the next round of year groups in 2020.
