We welcomed back to School more than 100 Old Abingdonians in the latest Year Group Reunions.

This year, leavers returned from 1947, ’57, ’67, ’77, ’87, ’97, ’07 and 2015 and had the opportunity to see their former boarding houses, attend a special chapel service followed by a drinks reception, tour of the School and evening meal. We were delighted to have Chris Allen (OA 1977) ring the school bell (63 times, of course) to announce the chapel service, during which Basil Margrave (OA 1947) and David Kingsley (OA 1997) delivered readings.

It was a pleasure to have OAs bring their partners and family with them and spend a good time catching up with one another and their former teachers. For many, the School site had changed significantly, with some returning for the first time in more than 20 years who were in awe of the latest sport and science facilities, and there remained many fond memories of sporting endeavours out on the pitches, boarding in School House, choir and chapel services, and musicality in the Amey Theatre.
