Tuesday 10 May 2016

Another most enjoyable day was spent at the beautiful Frilford Heath Golf Club. We met over the essential coffee and bacon rolls, followed by 9 holes on the Blue Course competing for the Trenaman Trophy which was won by Robin Scibilia (1976).

After a Frilford Ploughmans lunch, we played 18 holes on the Green Course and the John Roysse Cup was won by Andy Snodgrass (1971). We rounded off the day with a well received two course dinner, after which the prizes were awarded.

The weather forecast had been terrible and some players had problems getting to the Club, but we were lucky to get away with only light drizzle, which didn’t manage to dampen our spirits!

Next year’s Golf Day has been booked already and will take place at Frilford on Tuesday 9 May 2017, so please get the date in your diaries.

We would welcome some new players of any age, and of mixed handicap. We are a very friendly and welcoming group and would enjoy your company … and would love someone under the age of 50 to win the cup!

David Blomley (1976)
