This year's annual reunion of the 1950s and 1960s leavers was organised by Richard Watts (OA 1960). Guests met in Abingdon with opportunities to revisit the sights and sounds of the town, attend drinks and a dinner, and take a tour of the School.

Meeting on the banks of the Thames, OAs and their partners enjoyed a short cruise down the river and past Abingdon School Boathouse witnessing with delight several crews out practising on the water.

A brief coffee stop later and a small group embarked upon a walking historical tour of the town including St Nicolas' Church, the Abbey Gardens, Unicorn Theatre (with a brief sighting of Abingdon boys in Big Band rehearsals for a local Jazz festival) the Old Gaol and highlights of East St Helen Street.

In the evening, with plenty of OA ties on display, guests attended a drinks reception in the Minstrels Gallery of the Crown & Thistle Hotel, before being seated for a hearty three course meal followed by humorous speeches.

The following morning OAs were welcomed into School for a special tour with fond memories and plenty of tales told of life at Abingdon, including former teachers and favourite classrooms.

This year saw a very good turnout of seventy attendees across the weekend, with some new faces and some absences that were greatly missed.
