15 November 2017

On 15 November, Henry Barlow, Rowan Miell-Ingram, Josh Crichton, David Bunn, Fergus Mitchell and Calum Steer raced in the 6 by 3k St Albans relays. The team started extremely well with all boys running good legs and the squad coming 5th overall despite facing some of the best school cross-country teams in the country. The course record was broken 4 times in this year's race with some phenomenal running from schools such as The Judd, St Albans, St Columba's and Harrow.

Although all boys should be given special mentions, Rowan Miell-Ingram must be highly commended for putting in a fantastic second leg of 10.27, one of the fastest second legs of the day, despite only being in the third year. Fergus Mitchell should also be mentioned for running a strong 5th leg on his first ever cross-country race. Henry Barlow has showed one of the most dramatic improvements the cross-country team has seen as he went sub 10 minutes over the 3km course.

Overall, with the squad gaining new members and everyone performing well at such an early stage, the coming season promises to be very exciting for Abingdon cross-country.
