Raiders from Buckland Primary School visited the ASP Lab for a workshop on the Science of Viking Ships, adapted from ASP's popular Forces and Buoyancy workshop.

The Year 3 and 4 pupils are studying Vikings this term and were able to investigate how upthrust forces, buoyancy and stability are critical to the design of a good ship. Armed with the basic principles, they were then able to make and test some Viking ship designs before returning to Buckland to continue their Vikings project in the afternoon.

As usual, we really enjoyed hosting the enthusiastic and engaging Buckland pupils and look forward to seeing the other year groups over the next two terms.
