Saturday 30 September saw the Rugby Club take on Cheltenham College in a block fixture with 12 matches across our age grades. Our U14s and U16s were both away from home with U15s and Seniors hosting.

The matches were extremely competitive and there were some excellent performances from many of our teams with impressive away wins for our U16 XVs, plus home wins for most of the Senior, U15 and U14 XVs.

Results:

1st XV lost 41-11
2nd XV won 21-8
3rd XV won 31-12
4th XV won 35-0
16 A XV won 40-31
16 B XV won 17-7
15 A XV won 14-5
15 B XV won 50-5
15 D XV won 51-0
14 A XV lost 5-38
14 B XV won 34-7
14 D XV won 20-14

The day was extremely successful from a club perspective with ten of the 12 block fixtures resulting in wins – the best block result against Cheltenham that Abingdon School has ever had.

Last week our Lower School teams played Abingdon Prep at U12 A – C and U13 A – C. The matches were very well contested with a great opportunity for our boys to represent the School once again.

U13 A/B XIII won 30-5
U13 B/C XIII won 40-25
U12 A XII drew 25-25
U12 B XII lost 20-5
U12 B X won 30-15

This weekend coming we look forward to a stern challenge against Sherborne.

Please may I also remind you to buy your tickets to our Touchliner Black Tie Dinner on Saturday 4 November. It promises to be a superb night with Neil Back (England RWC winner and Lion) as our guest speaker.
