It has been a great start to the year in the Rifle Club. The Club has enjoyed considerable success over all areas and I would like to start by thanking everyone involved.
At the recent BSSRA winter open competition, Marius Williamson placed 1st in his age category with a score of 366.008, and Will Shorrocks placed 7th in his age category with a score of 377.007. On the day, 250 firers took part and 9 out of our 10 shooters came away with a personal best, a truly brilliant achievement.
The Club also took part in a rifle match against Marlborough College, which we hope will become a regular fixture in the future. We came away with an impressive victory over Marlborough in the 10-bull category with a score of 192/200 compared with Marlborough’s 187/200. The ten-bull team consisted of Drew Farwell and Will Shorrocks.
The club has also enjoyed success in the British Schools League competitions, with the A team placing 1st overall in the 10-bull category, the B-team placing 4th in division 1 5-bull, and the C team pacing 3rd in division 3 5-bull. In the staff matches, Mr Smith placed 5th overall with an average of 97.667, and Mr Johnson placed 14th overall with an average score of 94.667.
It has been a fantastic term and I would like to once again thank everybody involved and wish the Club every success as it moves forward into next term.
