This term has seen a fantastic display in the library of book reviews by boys in Year 3. During the summer the boys were invited to review any of the books on their summer reading list, or indeed a book of their own choice. What a busy summer they had reading and reviewing.

All boys taking part received a Super Reader certificate and a merit for their hard work. We have had several library sessions chatting about the books and the boys have had the opportunity to talk about the stories and what they liked about them. A personal recommendation between friends goes a long way!

A huge well done to William and his spectacular “Review Scrapbook” for which he won first prize and a GOLD. He certainly enjoyed the books he read and put together some well written and presented reviews.

Looking at all the reviews and listening to the boys it certainly seems that Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree has come out as a firm favourite – certainly this term these lovely “chapter” books have been flying off the library shelves. Dog Diaries by Steven Butler and James Patterson has also captured the boys’ imagination and a personal favourite with William and me was a delightfully funny and gentle story by Sally Nicholls – The Great Telephone Mix Up.

Well done to all the boys in Year 3 this term for working hard at their reading.
