Message from Elliot, Swimming Pool<\/b><\/p>\n

Please note that the swimming pool will be closed until Tuesday, 20th January, while we wait for a specific part to arrive. Pupils should come to school in their PE kit on any day they would normally have swimming lessons until this date.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Message from Stefan, Senior Deputy Head<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a polite reminder to parents of pupils in senior section that you are welcome to drop off your child on the playing field at morning drop-off. The entrance is the one opposite the main entrance to school. You can then leave via the gate by the Lower Pavilion and access the A388, or Wantage Road. A member of staff is always on duty to welcome you and guide the pupils across the bridge.<\/span><\/p>\n

Message from Annabel, H&S Officer<\/b><\/p>\n

House Battery Recycling ended<\/span><\/p>\n

We are no longer collecting used batteries to generate house points due to them being a safety hazard.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your used batteries can be recycled locally by placing them on top of your green bin (for Vale of White Horse) or any bin (Oxford), or by taking them to a supermarket or shop with a collection point. Do check which batteries can be recycled first – some will accept Lithium ion or rechargeable with terminals taped over for instance, others won’t.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Burns Night Dinner and Ceilidh Dance – Saturday 24 January 2026<\/b><\/p>\n

Blow away the January blues by joining the Abingdon community at the annual Burns Night dinner and dance, held at the Senior School Pavilion from 7pm to 11pm on Saturday 24 January.\u00a0 There’s no need to worry if you’ve got two left feet or don’t have a clue how to ‘Strip the Willow’ or dance the ‘Gay Gordons’; our caller Steph will talk us through every step, and the inevitable tangles are all part of the fun. We’d love to see you there and family and friends are also very welcome (though this event is for over 18s only).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
