Message from Rachel Pairman, Senior Deputy Head

Parents are reminded that all the school’s main policies can be viewed on the school’s website. These are periodically updated when they are reviewed across the Foundation and parents are encouraged to read them. The policies include, but are not limited to, those dealing with safeguarding, health and safety, attendance and registration, first aid, behaviour, bullying, admissions, special educational needs, curriculum, English as an additional language, exclusion, relationships and sex education, uncollected pupil policy, missing pupil policy, complaints (including the number of complaints registered under the formal procedure during the preceding school year) and copies of any inspection reports. Further information relating to academic performance can be found on the Academic page of the website. Particulars of the school’s academic performance during the preceding school year are also available on request from the Head’s PA. If you are unable to access these documents, please do contact the Head’s PA who will be able to arrange for you to see them in school.

Should you need any of the following, they are also provided on the website but can be viewed in school via the Head’s PA if preferred: the school’s address, telephone number, name of the Head, the name and address for correspondence of the Chair of Governors and a statement of the school’s ethos and aims.

Message from Rachel Pairman, Senior Deputy Head

Pupil Mobile Phone Policy

Pupils should not bring mobile phones into school with them. The only exceptions to this are phones used for medical reasons or where a parent has contacted the Head or Senior Deputy Head to request specific permission. An example might be where a pupil moves between two homes. Once permission has been given, the pupil needs to follow the guidance set out below when bringing the phone into school. Pupils are not allowed smartphones in school or while under the supervision of school staff. Any phones pupils bring into school (with permission) should be basic and not have internet access. The only exception would be a phone required for medical use where express permission has been given.

If a pupil who travels to school with a parent or carer brings a device into school, this must be handed in at the office on arrival and collected on departure. For pupils who travel to or from school on a school minibus or coach, phones should not be used on the journey and only available to contact parents in the case of an emergency. If attending a club after school, the device must be collected from the office after the club. If attending a club (including After School Club) that finishes after the office is closed, the device is to be collected before the club and given directly to the club leader who will keep it for the duration of the club in an appropriate storage facility until the end of the club. Any devices collected from the office at the end of the day must not be used, unless with the express permission of a member of staff as set out below, whilst the pupil remains in the care of the school.

After School Club Charges

Parents are reminded that a charge of £2.50 will be applied to bills for pupils in Pre-Prep using After School Club from 4.15-5.00 and a charge of £4.00 for ALL pupils using After School Club from 5-6pm.

School Calendar

Please check the dates on the school calendar carefully and regularly. They may be subject to change so a weekly check is a good idea.

This week’s ‘Thursday Thought’

Many people make New Year’s resolutions. Do you have any goals or resolutions for 2026? What or who will help you achieve them?

Please have a think and discussion about this over the weekend. The children can then join Lenka on Monday at morning break to discuss.
