Message from Rachel Pairman, Deputy Head

Most events for the Autumn term have now been added to the calendar so please do check this on the website and make a note of key dates in your diary. There is always a possibility that events could change or be added so please remember to check the calendar regularly.

Message from Debbie Mundy, School Nurse

Could we please ask you to ensure that a completed ‘Permission to Give Medicine Form’ is completed for any medication that you send in to go on trips, residentials in particular, that isn’t held by us normally. This includes brown Clenil inhalers and hay fever tablets/drops/sprays plus any other medication. Please ensure that instructions are clear over whether it is to be given ‘as needed’ or ‘as prescribed’. Without the signed form, staff will be unable to give the medication. A copy of the form is attached to the weekly mailing notification email. Certain medications may need a routine to be worked out, so please contact me in good time before the trip to discuss this further. Thank you.

Message from Annabel Gaskell re. Nuts in Birthday Treats

We have recently had several occasions of boxes of doughnuts from a certain premium manufacturer being sent in as birthday treats to be distributed to classmates. Unfortunately, these mixed boxes include varieties with nuts in which pose an anaphylaxis risk. Indeed, the manufacturer states that their products are not suitable for nut and peanut allergy sufferers due to manufacturing methods.

We have a nut/peanut-free policy at Abingdon Prep, so could we please ask parents to double-check all snacks and birthday treats etc. before sending them in to school. Thank you for your help with this.

Message from Rachel Pairman, Deputy Head

Other Half:

Please note that next week will be Week A for Other Half and lunches.

Second Hand Uniform Shop

SHUS will be open for existing parents on Tuesday 22 June from 3.30pm – 5.00pm.

Location – the drama studio in the car park.
