To celebrate British Science Week, all pupils enjoyed a series of exciting, hands-on science activities and workshops, bringing together different year groups for collaborative learning and discovery.<\/p>\n
Pre-Prep joined Year 8 to take part in some fun Science lessons. Reception pupils tested materials to see which is best for containing a sneeze, Year 1 investigated buoyancy by making super boats and Year 2 solved the crime of stolen balloons. Year 8 were great Science teachers and everyone had an excellent time working together.<\/p>\n
We then welcomed Boffin Becca to the Middle Section. She taught pupils all about electricity using her plasma ball and pupils were able to make some slime, learning all about the properties of polymers. For Year 5, they also learned about Space and special refraction glasses, followed by fun with the stomp rocket.<\/p>\n
Finally, Year 6 were joined by NitroGen who taught them all about properties and uses of Dry Ice, entertaining them by allowing it to be used to blow giant bubbles. An exciting demonstration taught us that Dry Ice can change the pH of water to acidic, a lovely colour change from green to yellow. Year 6 were also able to make slime and learn about this very impressive polymer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
