Ruth took us through her life as an artist, her many awards and how she creates her commissioned portraits. Then using our mystery sitter, Headmaster Craig, she demonstrated how to grid up a portrait for extra accuracy, how to look for less obvious tones and then how to use &#8216;gioconda&#8217; pastel pencils to blend and layer the facial colour.<\/p>\n<p>The pupils were exceptional in their attitude, and so creative in the way they produced the finished portraits.
