The pupils took part in a series of team building challenges including operating land skis and crossing a &#8216;lava pool&#8217; with planks, crates and tyres. The children learned that teams work best when everyone listens carefully to each others&#8217; ideas and when we all agree on a plan of action before getting started. After a picnic lunch and some time to explore the woods, Year 1 showed brilliant perseverance when learning how to use a flint and steel to make sparks to light our own mini fires. The children ended the day by toasting marshmallows to make delicious, sticky smores and by singing some wonderfully funny campfire songs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>29 September 2022 Year 1 had a fantastic day exploring at Hill End!
