As part of their PSHCE and Geography curriculum, Year 4 slipped on their walking shoes and explored the Ridgeway on an overnight stay. The trip began at White Horse Hill, near Uffington, where the pupils walked over 7 miles on the first day, carrying their own luggage too. They stayed overnight at a hostel and after some hearty food, a good night sleep and a play in their beautiful beech woodlands, we headed off for day two to cover another 6 miles to East Ilsley. Along the way, we paused to learn more about the places we could see like: Dragon Hill, Devil’s Punchbowl, Scutchamer’s Knob and Segsbury Fort to name but a few. Each member of Year 4 had completed their own research on one of these areas to become our ‘class expert’ on the topic and gave interesting talks at each location. The pupils demonstrated a super ‘can do’ attitude and demonstrated super determination along the route.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
