Other activities throughout the day included a competition for the best dressed, discussions on Roald Dahl, computer lessons based on fairy tales, book reviews, an A-Z of book titles, fifty word stories and improvisation based on a mish mash of different book characters.<\/p>\n<p>The wide array of fantastic costumes across all year groups was really something to behold and it was clear a huge amount of effort and imagination had gone into their creation. A particular favourite was Wilbur who came as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! The teachers, not to be outdone, also joined in and special mention should go to those in our senior section who came as characters from Lewis Carroll&#8217;s &#8216;Alice in Wonderland&#8217;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>7 March 2022 The 25th World Book Day was a whimsical, weird and wonderful event at Abingdon Prep.
