Year 8 was<\/span>\u00a0treated to a masterclass in chloroplast extraction from Oxford University researcher Ellie Williams. They used a vortex to mix their samples and then spun out their samples in a centrifuge to make it concentrated. These were then tested for pigments using chromatography where we found chlorophyll a and b as well as carotene.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
