{"id":23841,"date":"2020-02-04T12:36:18","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T12:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.abingdon.org.uk\/prep\/?p=23841"},"modified":"2020-02-07T14:06:25","modified_gmt":"2020-02-07T14:06:25","slug":"dry-point-etching-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdon.org.uk\/prep\/dry-point-etching-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Drypoint Etching Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>4 February 2020<\/h3>\n<p>On Saturday a most creative day was spent by a group of Year 7 and 8 boys in the art department, experimenting with drypoint etching.<\/p>\n<p>After learning about the process of intaglio printing and exploring the illustrations of Ernst Haeckel, and Jackie Morris we used filed acrylic sheets, to etch into using a burr.<\/p>\n<p>The precise steps of inking the plate using scrim and polishing papers didn\u2019t daunt our artists as can be seen by their astonishingly confident prints.
