It was an outstanding day yesterday for all of our cross-country runners. Out of 20 schools, Abingdon Prep came fourth in the boy’s overall competition. The tough competition involved 630 runners from schools including The Dragon, Cheam, Cothill, Caldicott, Summerfields, Moulsford, MCS, Chandlings, St Hugh’s, Pinewood, Elstree, Farleigh, Beachborough, Thorngrove and Oratory Prep.

Our Under 8s and Under 9s gained a great deal of experience from competing in this event and have already shown huge improvement since the beginning of the academic year. Our first place APS runner was: Oliver in 46th closely followed by Isaac in 52nd, in the Unders 8s, and Sam 7th and Luke 22nd in the Under 9s. In the Under 10s, Finn (13th) was the first placed APS runner. Closely followed by Max in 20th.

The performance of the day however came from our Under 11 team who finished 1st in the team competition scoring an overall total of just thirty points. What a fantastic team effort! Quinn won the individual event by a huge margin. But there were fine performances from both Joseph (5th) and Freddie (6th) who both finished in the top ten.

The results were as follows:
