In Junior Science Club this term, we are joining in with the BBC's new Terrific Scientific programme. Our first experiment was to find out if anyone in our group was a Super Taster, (around 25% of people are). Super Tasters have more taste buds on their tongues, so the boys dyed their tongues blue and counted the number of bobbles seen through the hole of a punched card. Over half of our small group of young scientists were Super Tasters so not a statistically significant sample, but we can add our results to the BBC's bigger data collection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
