{"id":13522,"date":"2015-01-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-01-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/abingdon.prod.twkmedia.eu\/prep\/2015\/01\/17\/wall-sculpture\/"},"modified":"2019-10-30T12:07:01","modified_gmt":"2019-10-30T12:07:01","slug":"wall-sculpture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdon.org.uk\/prep\/wall-sculpture\/","title":{"rendered":"Wall Sculpture"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>17&nbsp;January 2015<\/h3>\n<p>For the first in what we hope to be a jam packed calendar of practical Saturday Art workshops, we were thrilled so many creative and enthusiastic Year 6, 7 and 8 boys chose to attend.&nbsp;The day started with a brief discussion about contemporary sculpture using artists such as Frank Stella for inspiration.&nbsp;We then explored a range of visuals based entirely around fairgrounds, carousels and the bright, sometimes clashing colours found in their shapes and typography.&nbsp;They all were eager to begin and, working collaboratively they decided upon a variety of shapes, and a colour palette for their wall sculpture.&nbsp;After much template cutting, painting, wire moulding, and copious amounts of electrical cable, every group created a composition worthy of a gallery display.
