The weather this year for our annual Inter-House Cross Country competition was initially very good which made good conditions for both running and spectating. However, it then turned for the Under 11 and Under 13 races. But this did not dampen the spirits of our runners.

The event began with all of the Pre-Prep running in the Under 7 race over 500m. This was won by Alex (Year 2) followed closely by Oliver and Angus (both Year 2).

The Under 9 race (1525m) was won by Max (Year 4) followed by Nikhil and Mikey (both Year 4).

The most eagerly anticipated race of the afternoon was the Under 11s (2025m) and it did not disappoint. William and Quinn were 'neck and neck' the whole way around the course, but William was the faster finisher and broke the Year 6 school record in 6:57sec. Quinn breaking the Year 5 school record in 7:01 finished in 2nd with Jonny in 3rd.

Our grand finale, the Under 13 race (3050m), contained an Oxfordshire County Cross-Country runner (Rowan) and a number of other runners with a fantastic running pedigree. The final outcome was never certain even after the first lap of the two lap course. However, as the distance increased our hardened County and Club runners showed their class. The final result was Rowan (1st), Nicholas (2nd) and James (3rd).
