{"id":11657,"date":"2016-11-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-10T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/abingdon.prod.twkmedia.eu\/prep\/2016\/11\/10\/charity-silver-coin-trail\/"},"modified":"2022-01-17T12:05:40","modified_gmt":"2022-01-17T12:05:40","slug":"charity-silver-coin-trail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdon.org.uk\/prep\/charity-silver-coin-trail\/","title":{"rendered":"Charity Silver Coin Trail"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>10 November 2016<\/h3>\n<p>We recently had our annual silver coin collection for this year&#8217;s charity &#8211; &#8216;Thinking of Oscar&#8217;.\u00a0This is a local charity which aims\u00a0to improve the experiences of young children and their families whilst in hospital care by helping to fund new innovation and advanced technology within the NHS.<\/p>\n<p>We decided to cover the letters of the name Oscar. This year there was an added incentive of an inter-house\u00a0competition &#8211; house points being awarded for the most coins laid and the highest amount of money raised. The boys excelled themselves and the letters were soon piled high with coins. The result of the competition will have to wait until all the coins are counted.
