A display in the school hall and our Thursday Assembly told the stories of pupils' relatives and Old Abingdonians who served in wartime.
On Friday, everyone at Abingdon Prep gathered in the playground just before 11am for a short Remembrance Ceremony. We remembered those who have served, and those still serving. Craig read a verse from Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen and a trumpeter played the Last Post before staff and boys observed two minutes silence, the Cavalry Reveille signalled the end of the service. Our 'Field of Poppies' gradually filled up as pupils planted their poppies after the service.
