Lance Corporal Alfred Norman Perrin

CORPORAL  A. N. PERRIN of the Coldstream Guards, died on October 30th in Italy of pneumonia. He joined the School as a Roysse Scholar in September 1903, and was the third son of Mr R. A. Perrin of Ock Street, Abingdon. He was 27 years of age.

Alfred N Perrin joined the Coldstream Guards Jan’y 1915. Proceeded to France August 1915, sent back to England with lung trouble June 1916. After some time in hospital became squad instructor at the Guards depot Caterham, returning to France in May 1917 he soon showed signs of returning illness and was given a clerical post on ‘Headquarters’ staff to which the Prince of Wales was attached, later proceeded to Italy as one of the clerical staff under Bg General Lord Cavan. Where he died of pneumonia 12 days before the Armistice.
