Abingdon Squash Team continue their outstanding run of success in the National U19 competition. On Saturday 4 November we played St Edward’s in the second fixture of our qualifying group. We fielded our strongest team ever, consisting of Nikhil Vyas, Will Pearson, Hector Chambers, Will Taylor and Ben Goriely-McDonald, and all five won without loss of a game.
We knew that the next game would be a bigger test. On Wednesday 15 November, the same five took on Wellington, a particularly strong squash school. We put on another superb performance, and defeated them convincingly 4-1. We are currently at the top of our qualifying group, and are now assured of qualification for the second stage for the first time ever.
