The final day of term saw the grand final of the annual Lower School Public Speaking Competition. First year champions 1L (Philip Kimber, Augustus Nelmes and Olly Tibble) spoke of the problems posed by pollution, while the second year winners 2M (Lachlan Borthwick, Mark Taylor and Samuel Turner) discussed the ideas behind communism. A very high standard of public speaking was achieved and judge Mr Hindley had a tough job – his final decision was a win for 2M by a mere 2 points.
