On Saturday Abingdon hosted Bradfield in what is one of the most exciting block fixtures of the year. All matches were going to be tight with the 1st XI/U16As and U15As all able to win their ISHL leagues.

The seniors had 3 fantastic fixtures, the 2nd XI winning 1-0, with their best performance of the season against a very fine Bradfield side. The boys played magnificently, interchanging and playing good patterns all over the pitch. The 3rd XI also played a high level of hockey, moving the ball on early and pressing the Bradfield back line well. They were unlucky not to come away with a win, drawing 2-2. The 1st XI played their best hockey of the year, dominating a good Bradfield side. With chance after chance, the Bradfield keeper made some unreal saves keeping Bradfield in the game. With the score locked at 1-1, Bradfield sneaked a last minute penalty corner. Although upset at the result, it was honestly a fantastic performance from the boys.

The U16As continued their magnificent form, playing as a unit and winning 4-0 against a good Bradfield side. The U16Bs, couldn't convert their chances, and although being in the game for a long period of time, lost 2-0 against a strong side.

The U15s ran riot, scoring 7 goals, the patterns and pace that they play at are incredible for such a young age. Some all round great goals were scored. The U15 Bs performed incredibly, showing grit and determination throughout, with the game ebbing and flowing both ways, the boys managed to secure a 2-2 draw. The U15Cs (who I would like to add are the best U15C side we have had in years!), played out of their skins. They worked hard and were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of the result. The U14s continue to work hard, and are improving every game, unfortunately all three teams came across strong Bradfield sides.

Overall another fantastic week for the Hockey Club, we look forward to welcoming MCS next week for our final block fixture.
