FASBC Quiz and Curry Night

22 November 2014

The FASBC Quiz and Curry Night took place this evening in the school Dining Hall. About 130 boys, parents, coaches and supporters attended and formed 16 teams of boys and adults to battle it out for the Grand Prize or the specially crafted 'Abingdon' wooden spoon. The competition was stiff but the convivial atmosphere made the evening fly past.

Abby Blackwell kindly agreed to read the questions and set the brains ticking aided by the Digby family who were writers and scorers between them. Thanks to them all for the very successful evening.

In the middle of the quiz, a break for dinner saw the serving of a delicious curry that was much appreciated, and washed down with a drink from the bar. A raffle was held to raise some money for the Club, the prize being to name a boat.

In a very close finish, the honours went to the Coaches, the first time for very many years that the coaches have won, while the wooden spoon and some consolation chocolate was carried away by the J15 team known as the Oarsome J15s.
