After an extremely busy few weeks, Abingdon Science Partnership's final event before the half term break was an Exobiology workshop run by National Space Academy Lead Educator Lee Sheldon. Fifty five pupils from Abingdon School, Didcot Girls School, Larkmead and John Mason took part in the three, short workshops run during the day in the Science Partnership Lab. They were introduced to ideas about planetary systems and conditions needed for life on other planets and moons, before carrying out some practical experiments on factors affecting biological organisms in extreme environments. Lee carries out these workshops all over the UK and was particularly impressed by the level of knowledge and engagement of all the pupils from the local area, going as far as to say 'Having worked with these pupils today, I am really optimistic for the future of British science and impressed by the scientific talent that exists in this area'.
